Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers out there!

I stayed up a little too late to finish this before she woke up, but the smile on my mom’s face was worth all the inane babblings at my friend at 5 a.m. It’s also the first time I’ve used just watercolour in months, so that’s always nice!

4 1/16” x 5 11/16”. Copic multiliner, watercolour, and a blue pen by that German company.

This art blog needs some art! Here’s a (now old) WIP of a contest entry I’m working on.

The thought process behind this pretty much went as follows: Dreams! —> Sandman? —> Eels carry dreams, which the dream giver selects from and doles out to sleeping minds. —> Wings! Wings are fun. —> Wait, is this an angel, am I drawing angels again? —> I need Madonna lily references. —> Why is it suddenly 2 a.m. and my mind brimming with plot bunnies.

Yikes, I forgot to post this WIP [it looks like it has snowed WIPs around me, seriously, so I missed this one]. It’s an idea for a business card, but I’m not sure if I like it anymore.

An ACEO commission of the lovely Leigh’s original character, Clorin, who features in her webcomic. As is the usual case, it looks better in person and not so yellow. Natural media stumps me in capturing it correctly on the digital side of things. = w=

A spot illustration experiment that features Taika’s otter spirit. The otters of Avonte have longer hair than the usual river otter, because it is typically freezing. Or, at least, this is what I tell myself!

I kinda like how the blue box and border aren’t perfectly straight, but that might just be me. 

Narantya was known for using the warriors’ ash-makeup in really eccentric ways. She especially liked the red variety for the added boost to her intimidation score.

I’m not all to satisfied with how this is right now, so I’m going to leave it alone for some time. I might just redo the whole thing, as the face is on a different sheet of paper than the rest of the picture. Natural media in all its permanent, smearing wonder.
